Getting married quickly in Provence: is it possible?

Getting married quickly in PACA: Smiling newlywed couple

Getting married in Provence in just a few months might seem ambitious. Between the high demand, sought-after venues and suppliers sometimes booked two years in advance, many couples think it is impossible.

And yet, yes, getting married quickly in Provence is possible, provided you adopt the right strategy.

Provence is appealing:

  • Local couples
  • Marriages from other regions
  • International marriages

Between Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Cassis and the Luberon, the region offers an exceptional diversity of backdrops: stone farmhouses, wine estates, country houses, private beaches.

The result is that dates from May to September sell out very quickly. But “quickly” doesn’t mean “last-minute”.

  • 12 months: comfortable
  • 6 to 8 months: ambitious but realistic
  • 3 to 5 months: possible with flexibility
  • 2 to 3 months: essential strategic planning

A quick wedding rests on three pillars

  1. Quick decisions
  2. Flexibility regarding the date
  3. Flexibility in the workplace

March, April, October or November offer:

  • No further availability
  • Prices that are sometimes more affordable
  • A magnificent light

A weekday wedding can also make all the difference.

A wedding with 50 to 80 guests is easier to organise at short notice than one with 180 guests.
Less logistics = smoother operations.

To organise a wedding in Provence at short notice, the following must be sorted out as a priority:

  • The venue
  • The caterer
  • The photographer
  • The officiant (in the case of a non-religious ceremony)
  • The DJ or band

The décor can then be adapted to suit availability.

When time is tight, having someone to guide you makes all the difference. A local wedding planner knows:

  • Last-minute accommodation options
  • Responsive service providers
  • The credible alternatives

In Aix-en-Provence and throughout Provence, this often saves several weeks’ worth of research.

Contrary to popular belief, a “quick” wedding doesn’t necessarily cost more.

It can even be optimised if:

  • The date is in the low season
  • The number of guests is kept under control
  • The choices are clear from the start

For 60 to 80 guests in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, the average budget in 2026 will be between €25,000 and €40,000, depending on the level of service.

A quick wedding is not a cheap wedding.

It is a wedding:

  • Decided
  • Assumed
  • Structured
  • Accompanied

With a proper approach, the PACA region remains one of the most beautiful places in France to say I do… even on short notice!
